The Institutional Standard
The institutional standard for AI knowledge infrastructure has three properties. Persistence across sessions: context accumulated in one session is available in the next, across tools, across researchers, across time.

Searchability: persistent context is only useful if it can be retrieved. The failure history from eighteen months ago that prevented a redundant experiment requires that the failure was captured, tagged, and retrievable by research question — not buried in a chat log from a session that no one can find.
